Steam turbines for insurance professionals
Steam turbines reached a plateau in efficiency and technology in the 1990s-2000s and so some might suggest that the increase of renewable energy power stations may lead to a world where they have less relevance. However, steam turbines continue to be an effective device for converting thermal energy into electrical power and their flexibility will see continued use of steam turbines into the next century.
This report examines their history and development, critical maintenance guidance, and risk management and insurance considerations.
