At its annual RESTORE managed repair conference in Manchester, Crawford reaffirmed its strong commitment to Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD), the insurance sector’s multi-award-winning charity partner.
President, Crawford UK & Ireland, Paul Lofkin took to the stage during the evening to address almost 400 delegates and suppliers, reminding all present that that the Insurance Day for Dementia is fast approaching and that this event is an opportunity for the entire insurance sector to unite, raise awareness and to generate much-needed funds and that he was honoured to reaffirm Crawford’s commitment to IUAD.
Paul reiterated that Crawford’s purpose is to restore lives, businesses and communities. Further, the aim of the RESTORE conference was to forge powerful collaborations and partnerships to tackle the big challenges and to unlock future opportunities in the insurance industry.
In this spirit, Lofkin said,
“At Crawford, we believe that partnership is at the heart of everything we achieve. That spirit of collaboration is exactly why we are so proud not only to be a founding partner of IUAD.”
Since the campaign’s inception in 2017, Crawford colleagues have led the way, raising over £195,000 for Insurance United Against Dementia through dedicated fundraising and volunteering efforts. So, Paul laid down a challenge to the room: to reach the £200,000 mark by the end of the evening thus giving a target of £5000 to be raised in a few short hours.
While several raffle prizes were generously donated to help raise funds, a number of delegates used a QR code to make donations without entering the draw and at one point the organiser’s table was virtually mobbed by donors, who formed an enthusiastic and impressive queue to add their contributions.
Funds were counted towards the end of the evening and Paul Lofkin was delighted to take the stage once more, to announce that the £5000 target set for the night had been well and truly broken as an impressive £7600 had been raised which took Crawford’s contribution to well over the £200,000 target.
Paul summarised: “As we continue our work to restore and rebuild every day, let’s also remember the power of our unity. Whether it’s through fundraising, volunteering or simply spreading awareness, every action makes a difference for real people who are experiencing real challenges. Thank you for joining us in this united effort, for your generosity tonight and for your continued support together, we can see that no family faces dementia alone.”
