Crawford is deeply committed to making sustainability part of everyday business through strong governance, more sustainable operations, community action and innovative partnership.
Our Planet Positive environmental initiatives include practical actions that reduce our footprint, such as fuel-efficient vehicle options for our adjusters, widespread use of virtual communication to minimise travel and a shift toward more environmentally sustainable operations company-wide.
Through these actions we have made real and measurable progress in cutting emissions, reducing waste, supporting people and collaborating for a better future.
As part of this tangible progress, Crawford has taken another step on our path forward towards achieving Net-Zero by establishing SBTi-aligned science-based targets, launching us on a journey to cut greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible. We have already measured our emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 to better understand the footprint of our entire value chain and have now set credible and realistic science-based targets to achieve Net-Zero against our baseline footprint year of 2024.
And for our overall Net-Zero target, Crawford commits to reach Net-Zero greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain by 2040.
For our near-term targets, we also commit to reduce absolute Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 50% by 2032 from a 2024 baseline year. Our long-term targets are to maintain a minimum of 90% absolute Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions reduction from 2040 onwards.
To reduce emissions throughout the whole of our value chain, we will concentrate on: switching to renewable energy sources; implementing energy efficient practices and technologies; adopting sustainable waste solutions; and collaborating closely with our key suppliers to understand their own sustainability credentials and supporting them with emissions reduction strategies.
We commit to measuring and reporting our emissions on an annual basis to evidence our progress towards these science-based targets.
