Our team of highly skilled environmental professionals who have been supporting the wider Crawford UK business since March 2022 – is fast establishing itself as the insurance industry’s ‘go to’ environmental offering having hit the ground running in its first year.
Crawford undertakes ‘cradle to grave’ environmental investigations and remediation design, delivering detailed environmental risk assessments and technical support proportionate to risk and cover. These services were previously outsourced to suppliers who provided both consultancy and contractor services. By separating the consulting and contracting elements of an environmental claim and bringing investigation and remediation in-house, this gives you full control over the end-to-end customer and client journey.
Built on the founding principles of integrity, ‘value in efficiency’, empathy and customer focus, the team’s judicious management has already delivered impressive results, with claim lifecycles reduced by up to 24% per claim, indemnity costs reduced by 9-10% per claim on average, 100% of soil waste diverted from landfill disposal routes, a 14% increase in claims repudiated and the team consistently receiving 10/10 customer satisfaction scores."
The team's diverse specialisations include environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, soil science, chemistry, contaminated land, geotechnical engineering, bio-remediation, water quality, freshwater and terrestrial ecology. Unsurprisingly, they are never happier than when exploring the great outdoors in all weathers.
The team offers technical support across the entire Crawford business – in the UK and globally – and have guided a variety of adjusting outlets on environmental issues over the past year across a wide range of claims including flood, escape of water, fire and theft and liability.
Crawford also offers insurers environmental risk consulting for environmental site audits, spill training and contingency planning, helping them identify and minimise the risk of potential environmental, property and ecological damage and/or impact to third-party property from business operations. Crawford has also undertaken work on behalf of private clients including the National Trust, property and land developers, plus several national road hauliers.
