From humble beginnings in the automobile industry to US operations leader at Crawford, Tom has been delivering superior service to his customers for over 30 years. Born in Illinois and raised across several states before finally settling in in Columbus, Mississippi, Tom began his first paying job in 1987 as a summer employee washing cars for a local Ford dealership. Due to his strong work ethic and attention to detail, he quickly rose within the dealership working across several departments before becoming parts manager. He left to pursue a career in the financial industry helping customers plan for retirement. In 2005, his business was dealt a devastating blow from Hurricane Katrina leading to significant business interruption resulting in financial loss. A co-worker shared the career opportunities available for adjusters in the claims industry, and Tom welcomed the chance to help those in need and quickly started his career in the insurance industry.
Over the course of his career, Tom performed various roles, which included working as a trainer, manager and lastly, as Crawford’s catastrophe services operations manager. In his current role, Tom oversees all Catastrophe Services field personnel as well as supports employees to ensure Crawford’s clients receive the best claims management service. Tom never forgets the impact Hurricane Katrina had on him and his business, and this drives him to provide the assistance needed to those facing similar circumstances. His passion for helping others shows through his leadership and commitment to deliver quality work every day.

Looking ahead, Tom believes technology will continue to enhance the claims management experience allowing for a more streamlined approach. “From self-service applications such as YouGoLook to AI-controlled systems, claims management will continue to evolve empowering Crawford and our clients to deliver more and ever increasingly efficient methods of processing claims resulting in greater policyholder satisfaction.”
When Tom isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, especially his dog Murphy. He is also an avid athlete frequently participating in CrossFit and other exercises.
