Overview
Torrential rain causes havoc across the UK

UPDATE — 2019/11/19
Relief from floods is in sight
Large parts of the UK continue to experience the after-effects of the flood with many properties waterlogged and residents still battling to clear their homes.
Despite some areas enduring their “wettest ever autumns”, much-needed relief from heavy rainfall has been forecast for flood-hit areas in the coming days.
Current Activity
The affected communities face a long road to recovery as it is essential that a property is fully dry before repairs can begin. Crawford adjusters, surveyors, claims technicians and contractors have been working flat out to meet with people affected and provide guidance and support at such a traumatic time.
Claim numbers have increased above average but there has been no dramatic increase and we are well able to cope with the volume received. Principal areas affected are East and West Midlands and the majority of our claims come from these areas.
We are making every effort to reach people as soon as possible but some homeowners have asked us to defer visits until they are confident that the water has fully receded.
You can view the damage caused in Stainforth and Fishlake in our drone footage - here
Expected Activity
We continue to monitor the situation and will issue further updates as the situation develops. If you require any further assistance please contact:

ORIGINAL POST — 2019/11/8
The Environment Agency has issued 113 flood warnings and 117 alerts as torrential downpours hit the UK. Britain was hit by severe flooding yesterday, with evacuations and even mudslides taking place as more than a month's worth of rain fell across parts of the country.
Some 35 homes were evacuated as a precaution in Mansfield after a mudslide in the area, while hundreds of people were kept inside Meadowhall Shopping centre near Sheffield due to gridlocked traffic outside.
Current Activity
Our adjusters and surveyors are mobilised to deal with an expected surge in claim numbers across Greater Manchester, Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. WeGoLook Lookers are also on standby as we have extensive coverage through South Yorkshire and the East Midlands. We have provided initial assistance to the majority of homeowners and businesses where access is possible.
There is limited access to the affected areas, with access controlled by the police and emergency services. We have a pilot on standby to collect drone footage and will deploy our drone services, adjusters and Lookers as soon as we are given permission to enter the controlled zones
We also have contractors from our managed repair service, Contractor Connection, on standby to provide emergency repairs, drying out and clean-up services. We are working with our providers to secure accommodation for all policyholders affected by flood in the region
Our 24/7 service is fully operational over the weekend with teams in Manchester and Glasgow ready to take your call. We will issue further updates as the situation develops.
