Overview
Typhoon Lekima causes devastation in China
The powerful typhoon has tragically left at least 30 people dead in China after a landslide backed up a river that broke through debris and inundated homes over the weekend. Our thoughts are with all those affected by the typhoon.
Typhoon Lekima made landfall early Saturday in Zhejiang province, with winds gusting up to 115 mph. The centre of the storm has since travelled north through Shandong and off the coast.
There are reports that the typhoon has damaged 1,358 homes in Kedah. The worst-affected district is Kuala Muda, where 400 residences were damaged, followed by Kota Setar, where 200 houses suffered varying degrees of destruction.
We are liaising with carriers, brokers, and corporates who have exposure in the region to provide adjusting support and expertise as quickly as possible.
