Overview
Crawford's response to Hurricane Isaias
Updates
Oct 09, 2026
Hurricane Isaias continues to intensify as it approaches the northern Gulf Coast, with the latest National Hurricane Center forecast shifting the projected track eastward toward the Pensacola, Florida area. Forecast confidence has increased throughout the day as guidance has converged on a landfall location between Mobile, Alabama and Panama City, Florida, with the greatest impacts expected near and east of Pensacola.
Isaias is forecast to reach Category 3 strength prior to landfall, with maximum sustained winds near 120 mph over the Gulf. Increasing wind shear may result in some weakening before landfall; however, the storm is still expected to make landfall as a dangerous Category 2 hurricane late Friday evening.
Hurricane Warnings remain in effect across portions of the Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast, including the Mobile, Pensacola and Panama City regions. Residents and businesses within the hurricane warning area should prepare for sustained winds ranging from 75 mph to 110 mph, with higher gusts possible near and east of the storm's center.
In addition to destructive wind impacts, significant storm surge is expected across portions of the northern Gulf Coast. Heavy rainfall will spread inland through Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and portions of the Southeast through the weekend, creating the potential for flash flooding, urban flooding and isolated river flooding. Widespread power outages are anticipated across the warning area and are likely to expand inland as the storm progresses northward.
Crawford Catastrophe Services continues to closely monitor Hurricane Isaias and remains prepared to support carrier partners with catastrophe response operations. Adjusters should ensure their Renovo profiles, licensing information, certifications, contact information and deployment availability are current as potential deployment activity increases following landfall.
