Typhoon Choi-wan

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the tropical storm is forecast to make its initial landfall over Eastern Samar between tonight and tomorrow morning, and pass in the vicinity of Camarines Sur Catanduanes area tomorrow afternoon.

Tropical storm ‘DANTE’ is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains over Eastern Visayas, the northern portion of Cebu.

‘DANTE’ will bring strong winds to gale-force winds over the areas where Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #2, winds between 61 and 120 kph, is hoisted.

With a maximum sustained wind of 75 km/h near the center, gustiness up to 90 km/h, and central pressure of 996. HPA, the strong winds may cause generally very light to moderate damage to structures and vegetation.
