Taiwan earthquake

A powerful earthquake struck north-east Taiwan at 9:19 pm on Friday 10 December 2020. The epicentre was located at 24.74° N latitude, 122.03° E longitude in the Pacific Ocean some 27km off the eastern coast of Yilan County. The tremor measured 6.7 on the Richter scale, and the focal depth was about 76.8 km.

After the earthquake, several manufacturing factories located in the Hsinchu Science Park (where many hi-tech manufacturing facilities are located) have evacuated their employees for safety but there was no significant damage reported.
