Crawford responds to ice storm in Canada
The ongoing spring ice storm has caused widespread damage across Ontario, leaving nearly 400,000 homes and businesses without power. Orillia, Peterborough and the Muskoka region have all declared states of emergency as freezing rain and high winds continue to impact communities.
Environment Canada reports that while conditions may ease in some areas today, the storm is now moving east, bringing freezing rain warnings for Quebec, New Brunswick, northern Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
