Magnitude 6.7 earthquake impacts the Philippines
A powerful earthquake measuring 6.7 hit the Philippines’ Batangas province on Saturday 24 July 2021. The epicenter had a depth of 116 kilometers and was 16 kilometers southwest of Calatagan, Batangas according to The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOLCS). Recorded at 4.48 am, the earthquake was of tectonic origin, and tremors were reported in some parts of Metro Manila and the nearby provinces. Earthquake intensities were registered in the following areas:

- Calapan City & Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Sablayan and Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro; Tagaytay City, Carmona & Dasmariñas City, Cavite
- Intensity IV
- Quezon City, Marikina City, City of Manila, Makati City, Taguig City, Valenzuela City, Pasay City, Tagaytay City, Cavite; Batangas City & Talisay City, Batangas; San Mateo, Rizal
- Intensity III
- Pasig City and San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan
