Flood, Wind & Hail
North of England Floods
England
Aug 2019
Overview
People rescued as homes, farms and roads flood

Roads have been closed, rail services cancelled and properties flooded as severe downpours affect large areas of the north of England. A day of heavy rain has led to flood warnings across the North West, the North East, Yorkshire and the Midlands.
Current Activity
It appears that the picturesque towns, villages and farms of the Yorkshire Dales have been worst hit. Livestock has been lost along with massive damage to properties and businesses. We have seen an uptake of claims across personal, commercial and agriculture lines particularly in DL, SY, HG, CV, SK postcodes.
Our adjusters including agriculture experts were in the area yesterday and are on site today to provide assistance to people affected.
Expected Activity
We are monitoring the situation closely and expect claim volume to increase once emergency clean-up has been completed and people submit claims to their insurers. We are prepared for this eventuality. We will issue further updates as the situation develops. If you require any assistance please contact your Account Manager or indeed myself.
