New South Wales flooding

We have enacted our Catastrophe Plan and are responding with a dedicated intelligent triage team talking to customers and routing claims appropriately.

Interstate resources are being mobilised to assist local teams to manage an influx of claims from the Event. Crawford Contractor Connection’s team of loss mitigation experts and builders are already attending to extract water and make properties safe.

Where possible claims will be assessed virtually using Crawford’s suite of digital tools that will facilitate faster assessment of losses, accurate scoping and validation leading to improved control of claims costs and a better customer experience.

Where physical site visits are necessary, these will all be completed in a COVID-safe manner to ensure we continue to restore and enhance lives, businesses and communities in the affected areas in the safest way possible.

Relentless rain down the east coast of New South Wales has resulted in flash flooding in many areas, the rain being reported as a one in one hundred year event. To date, the worst affected areas are Port Macquarie and Taree on the north coast, together with low-lying areas in the greater Sydney region. Communities around the Nepean River such as Penrith, Windsor and Richmond have been particularly affected by rising water levels from the river system and the overflow of water from Warragamba Dam.

Our thoughts are centred on the well-being of those people who live and operate businesses in the affected areas.
